Dunn requests release
Jim Trotter of SI.com reports that Falcons running back Warrick Dunn has requested his release from the team in lieu of them signing free agent running back Michael Turner. Dunn's departure, as previously reported, has been expected due to Turner's signing. According to the AJC, releasing Dunn will save the Falcons up to $3 million in 2008 cap space.
Dunn's departure could come as early as Monday, and he is expected to sign with a contender according to reports. Houston, Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, and Tampa Bay are reportedly teams that might be interested.
