Pudge, based on your grades there doesn't seem to be alot of 1st round material in this draft. I know your not done but looking at the positions def tackle seems to have good quality and receiver through the 2nd round. All other positions there are about 2 players that make the grade for 1st and 2nd round.There seems to be quite a drop off at off tackle from the first 2 players to the rest. This doesn't bode well if the Falcon's try and draft a off tackle with pick 1.

At the receiver positon seems like alot of big players but we already have that in Jenkins. There may more polished players than Jenkins but the lack of a big play threat we really need and I don't see and Desean Jackson's or Jeremy Macklin's in this group.

It's to bad Rudolph got injured may have been worth the 1st rounder to replace Gonzo.The def ends don't look very promising according to your grades either. Just to repeat I know your not done probably a long way to go but the early board doesn't look good vs the Falcon needs so far this year. Maybe certain players pick it up like Biermann, Baker,Blaylock, or linebackers but come the Falcon's pick around 25-30 I hope there is a quality player.

Yeah, it's a long way to go. And truth be told, once everyone declares and the draft class is finalized, guys at weaker positions in the draft will get a slight bump in their grades. That happened for Kyle Wilson last year, who started out as a low 6, but when it became increasingly clear as time wore on that other than Haden, there wasn't another corner that was better than him, it bumped him a bit, so that I saw him as more of a 7 by the time the draft rolled around.

Your right Pudge. Players will zoom up the charts and some down also the players who declare so there should be some quality at 25-30. Still keeping my fingers crossed we can find a MCluster type of player so the offense can strike for 7 on one play.

Unless the draft is really strong class at the top, by my grading system there usually aren't going to be more than 15 or so guys that will get a 7 or higher.

But you should also note that these are generic ratings. And based on each team's specific needs and schemes, will bump or knock ratings.

Replaced the big board with Top 15 rankings of seniors, including Baldwin, who apparently has declared. I'll add the juniors as they declare.

Drafting as late as we are, I wouldn't get my hopes up for any positional picks. I'm thinking that we are now in a position that we can draft BPA and look for, what TD considers to be, playmakers. There are certainly some needs going into this draft, but our overall talent level is pretty darn high. We cut several good players in camp this year, and had one signed away from our practice squad. We're in a really good position at this point in time.

I agree Rob...somewhat. I think this is the year that we should go BPA, because there are no glaring weaknesses as far as the starting 22 go, but I do think that more than likely TD won't abandon his needs-first drafting model, which probably means DE and TE could be higher priorities than other areas.

It probably won't be as strict as we've seen in recent years, but it remains doubtful to me that TD would use a No. 1 pick on a guy that won't come in right away and push for a starting job somewhere. And while I'd be ecstatic if our top pick was used on a CB, I don't expect it to happen since that player would just be a nickel corner, while a draft pick at DE, OLB, WR, or another position could actually win a starting job as a rookie.

Pudge, when are you going to update your chart? I would imagine after the underclassmen deadline?

Yeah, I was waiting for the underclassmen. You waited this long, you can wait a few more days!

What's the chance of the rankings being updated before the draft. After this senior bowl you still think Titus Young is that low on the board? How about Harris and Williams at corner? Qbs plenty have come out looks like needs revised. I don't believe locker helped himself at the Senior Bowl.

It'll get updated at some point, but I still have tape to watch, which I probably won't get to anytime soon.

An update with the Top 10 players that I've posted profiles for and their grades on offense. Once I've written a profile on a guy, I feel like I've done 90% of the work on him, although I might tweak things as I process more information, and unfortunately get influence by other opinions over the next 2 months.

I expect Luiget to be drafted by the Bears and Kerrigan to the Jaguers. Akeem Ayers didn't show well and I think slides to the 2nd.

If Ayers falls to the 2nd, then NFL teams are on crack. If GB doesn't take him at No. 32, then all hope is lost for this world.

Then I'm on the Enterprise to find a world where football makes sense.

Pudge, I was going through your scouting reports and your top 15 rankings. It seems you love Akeem Ayers,Wilson at linebacker and Paea isn't to bad at def tackle. All 3 are highly rated according to your grades. I was surprised you have Rudolph at 6.7 good but not the powerhouse tight end I was hoping. He got the same grade as DJ Williams at tight end. It doesn't seem your to excited about the receivers other than the first 2 in Jones and Greene. After Kerrigan at def end it drops substantially in ratings. Harris and Williams got good scores at corner I see. Ingram according to your ratings might be the 2nd coming of Joe Morris. Your pretty confident he is going to be like gangbusters when he gets in the NFL.

Well I'm cooling off on a receiver in the 1st anyway. We just need pro bowl potential players is all I care about. Seems like a few will be on the board come the Falcon's pick at 27.

I'm never confident in my ratings. I think I had Knowshon Moreno rated as an 8, and Clay Matthews a low 5 or high 4. Mike Wallace probably would have been like in the low 3s and Larry English would have been like a 7.5. Chris Long was another high 8 for me. Vince Hall, the former Virginia Tech MLB was rated in the 5 range over Curtis Lofton, and he's playing in the Indoor Football League, which is like a 3rd tier Arena league.

I wouldn't sleep on someone that is "just a 6.7." When you're picking where we're picking in the 1st round, that's typically the type of player you're targeting with the 27th overall pick. And in the case of Rudolph or any of the other TEs, we might be able to snag that guy with the 59th pick. If you can get a 1st round talent like that at the end of the 2nd round, you've pulled a Charlie Sheen and you've won. We did that in '09 with William Moore.
