I think you have Tyron Smith going way too low. Pretty sure he'll be a Top 15 pick, if not a Top 10 pick.

I've been hearing that a lot as well. I don't know if I see it though. I guess his stock will rise at the combine where he will put his athleticism on display. You don't think his weight will be a problem with some teams though?

We'll see when he shows up at the Combine. But remember he was the first player to declare for the draft (if you don't count Robert Quinn), and thus was given an extra month to get in the gym and start training for the combine because USC didn't go to a bowl game. So he had 10 weeks instead of the usual 6 weeks to hit the gym. He could easily show up in Indy at 315 pounds and wouldn't be weird.

If one works hard, you can easily put on 25 pounds of muscle in 6 weeks.

I myself was never enamored with Tyron Smith, but then I tend to be harder on OTs than most, and I think he's the elite caliber of athlete that gets guys like D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Jason Smith, among others locks as Top 10 picks.

I think Arizona (No. 5), Dallas (No. 9), Washington (No. 10), Minnesota (No. 12), or Detroit (No. 13) will definitely take him in the Top 15 picks.

Sorry to take one quote out. I agree he'll likely gain weight. However, the quoted, is insane. I worked with and around athletes and as a trainer awhile back. 25 lbs of muscle is very hard to gain in 6 weeks when running multiple different types of steroids at the same time. It is virtually impossible to gain naturally. I'm pretty sure it is impossible, but there are always peculiar aberrations.

The most one can legitimately expect to gain in muscle is a pound a week, and that's very difficult and not sustainable.

This guy will probably gain 7 lbs of muscle, 5 of water, and 10 of fat, and that'll be fine, because OT's don't need to be ripped.

Just wanted to jump in on this. I think it's a common misconception about athletes/the body and why some fans get annoyed and some FOs reach, is a lack of understanding of what's physiologically possible.

Losing weight, on the other hand, is a different story. There is no preset limit to how much you can lose how quickly...quite easy to lose 25 lbs in 6 wks.

You're probably right, and my use of the word "muscle" was probably wrong there. I should have said bulk. Aaron Maybin did it 2 years ago. He put on 27 pounds between the end of the season and his pro day which was in March, so a similar period of time between the beginning of December and the end of February for Smith. Now, it was speculated that Maybin didn't do it naturally, but he hasn't been busted for anything yet, so I can't say that he cheated to do it.

As long as he weighs in at like 297 or higher at the Combine, I don't think it's going to hurt his stock that much at all.

Fair enough. You can add that bulk in that time. Sorry if it seemed nitpicky...it's just some people actually think Ryan could gain 20 lbs of muscles over an offseason, which doesn't happen.

I heard he was 307lbs. currently and was looking to weigh-in at the combine between 305-310. That would boost his stock a lot.

6-5 even, 307 pounds, with 37-inch arms for Tyron. Ridiculous.

I saw on one of the other draft boards maybe to the Vikings or Lions early teens for T Smith. I wonder whoever drafts him would consider Baker for Smith?
Sometimes running the Mularkey offense makes me feel like I'm in a prison.
