40: 4.64 (Campus)
PROS: Quick to come up and defend the run. Is active in run support and shows a nice nose for the ball. Has good closing burst and has potential as a hitter. Will hit receivers over the middle. Wraps up and can make the stop at the point of attack. Does a decent job in coverage when he can keep things in front of him.
CONS: Struggles in coverage. He'll blow assignments in deep coverage, and doesn't have the awareness or ball skills to make plays. Lacks speed, hips, and burst and struggles in man coverage. Takes poor angles to the ball in run support and will whiff on stops in the open field. Tackles too high at times and doesn't always break down well.
OVERVIEW: Webster is a hard-hitting run-defending safety that is too limited in coverage, but also can be exposed in run support all the same. Was opportunistic this past year with 4 picks and 9 passes defended. He was a two-year starter at strong safety.
NFL FORECAST: Webster needs to probably bulk up, since with his frame he should be playing in the 215-220 pound range. Bulking up should help him in run support, although he'll never be a reliable tackling safety because he's just not a very sound tackler. But he'll be better able to make stops with added muscle if he continues to use sloppy technique, just from being stronger. But Webster is going to be hard-pressed to stick in the NFL just because of how limited he is in coverage. I think he's a coachable guy that if he can play on special teams, he'll get a chance to develop as a reserve. But he won't be a reliable starter and is just too mistake-prone to be counted on. If he can play on special teams, I think he could have a nice career as an NFL backup.
ATL FORECAST: Webster could compete for a reserve role behind Moore, but would have to make an early impact on special teams to earn it. He's not going to be a starter, and will be a career special teams player. Down the road if he was asked to be a starter for a game or two, he could do that with a few years under his belt. But that's about it.
VALUE: Webster is a late round value worth a sixth or seventh round pick for a team targeting a reserve strong safety with special teams potential.
