Connecticut Senior

PROS: Has good burst upfield and with nice edge quickness and straight-line speed. Has long arms and looks to strip the quarterback. Is athletic with potential to work in space and coverage.
CONS: Not always quick off the snap and doesn't always play with fire. Not comfortable moving in space or working in coverage. Struggles to get off blocks.
OVERVIEW: Productive as a senior in his first full year as a starter, finishing with 14 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks. However most of that production came in the first two games vs. Ohio and UNC, where he combined for 7 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss.
NFL FORECAST: He's a tweener that with his frame and long arms, if he can bulk up can stick at defensive end. But while he has nice quickness off the edge, and I'm not sure he'll be anything more than a situational guy. Doesn't have a great motor and I think he'll be one of those players that teams keep around because they like his athletic potential, but he'll never live up to it. He wasn't a consistent playmaker against the better Big East opponents, which indicates how he flashes hot and cold. He could play linebacker, but he's a project there that isn't likely to impact early in his career.
ATL FORECAST: Witten is a similar player to Sidbury, except doesn't have as good a motor as Sidbury has. And because of that, I don't like his chances of sticking long-term in Atlanta. He could be good enough to land a practice squad spot for the Falcons, but would be hard-pressed to rise up the depth chart down the road because how one-dimensional he is.
VALUE: Some team might look at him in the late rounds as a sixth or seventh round pick because of his athleticism.
