Jeff Moturi - WR - UTEP Height: 5'11 Weight: 186 40 Time: 4.42 Projected: 6th-FA
Positives:
- 3 year starter - Exceptional athlete - Very quick, agile and fast - Has the 2nd gear to go deep - Very fast through his routes - Exceptional route runner - Makes quick, sharp cuts and doesn't lose much speed - Gets a lot of seperation - Great at adjusting to poorly thrown balls - Great in the open field because of his quickness - Shows good ability to beat the jam - Despite the lack of size does a great job of jumping and high pointing the football - Great hands - Extends arms well and rarely body catches passes - Has some experience returning kicks and punts - Good motor and gives it his all on every play
Negatives:
- A bit undersized - Played at a relatively small school, competition wasn't always the best - Won't offer much as a blocker - Senior year production wasn't as good as you'd like - Not a redzone threat - May be limited to the slot - Does drop a few passes that should be routine catches
Overview:
Jeff Moturi is one of the most underrated WR's in this years draft. He is an exceptional athlete but also has great hands and runs great routes. He dominated at the Texas vs. Nation practices and brought in every thing thrown his way. He easily generated separation with his quickness, precise cuts and fakes. Similar performance to that of Pierre Garcon. The fact that DraftScout has Kelton Tindal ranked above him is a crime. Moturi is much more polished and has a greater chance of making an impact in the NFL because of his route running.
