I am sure many of you are waiting feverousily on the new Sarah Palin book coming out soon.Now you can see her on Oprah talk about Trig,Bristol and the whole gang.
Book sales she really be good since she is hyping it up right before the release.
Honestly,besides being good looking and seemingly a nice person why is she in politics? She can't put two sentences together without wondering are you serious she wants to be a presidential candidate. Looks like she is making good on her promise to help the Rebuplican party. Anyone falls for that I have some swamp land in Florida.She knows its time to cash in and she do whatever it takes for her family to make a ton of money.Other Rebuplican candidates will rip her when she runs against them for the simple fact she quit on the Alaskan people. If she can't stay 4 yrs in Alaska how could she being president. She is riding the wave the media has hyped her out to be and worst case scenario people forget about her in 5-10 yrs and she be living like a Queen.

Palin says she isn't running for presidentcy in 2012.Why all the hoopla then with some lady that quit her job and isn't running for presidentcy? This is cash in time for Palin whether she wants to say it or not get it while its hot.I guess she'll be another Republican advocate like Rush Limbaugh and he didn't do to bad money wise.

I went to see my barber a few weeks ago and I was discussing Palin.I don't think he wants to admit it but I can tell he seems to like Republicans more. I said why do people that support her believe the hype? She quit at being a govenor and now is going for the big bucks yet some actually believe she is this Republican god. I told my barber she had it planned all along once Mccain selected her for Vice President it was her meal ticket to win the lottery.

My barber said so you would do it if you had that opportunity like her.I think there is a big difference once she was nominated and Mccain lost she was certainly wasn't going to go back and stay in small Alaska for another 2-2 1/2 years.She got star struck and realized there are many opportunities for her family to make alot of money and not be pinned down in Alaska politics.In one sense she made people believe she was going to be their govenor till the end term but on the flipside I think she had it planned all along that money and power was her underlying ambition not to serve the people who voted for her.

I have no problem with Sarah Palin the person just the principles she represents. Oh my barber said Palin's better than that purple lipped person we have in there now. I didn't say anything which I could have easily been there for another hour debating Dems vs Republicans. I think when your a politician power and money are huge factors in running for office.Like many have said if Palin were like Phyllis Dillar would anyone care?

Palin would be a disaster for the GOP if nominated. I don't agree that she is a moron but I think her appeal is largely just a reactionary one...which could in some ways be said about Obama. We'd be the laughing stock of the world if she were ever elected....wouldn't be the first time. Maybe laughing stock isn't the word. America can sometimes be like a big gorilla jumping up and down swinging a logging chain. While it may have elements of humor to it from the outside there is also an element of danger.

I'll bite, There's no way in hell this woman will be on ANY presidential ticket in 2012. Not even third party. You simply cannot quit your elected post, even if your a lame duck, and expect the populace to elect you to dogcatcher again, let alone POTUS. I'll accept any wager offered.

Anyone reading some kind of POTUS scenario into her schilling of her awful book is deluding themselves. This is just old school political posturing so she can set up a nice little racket in the run up to 2012, making speeches ( cha ching ) and getting pay for play to appear at GOP political campign stops in the run up. In about a year, I'll have solid proof of this: her PAC still has to follow by the FEC rules in gathering of assets ( read $$$ ) and there are various means of handling the funds if your serious abut making a run.

She's no Einstein, but she's not as stupid as to honestly entertain these kinds of thoughts. Especially after the hatchet job administered to McCain in her 'tell all' rag ghostwritten by some nutty Jesus broad. That officially seals any GOP chances of getting in a primary, let alone on the ticket..NOw, they will let her campaign for them, but she broke Reagan's 11nth commandment! If she wanted to go 3rd party, she would lose all that $$$.

I disagree BnB. First, the possibility of her even winning an election is so ridiculous, I would wonder who would have the balls to 'laugh'? Italy? Mussolini's granddaughter made a run and a porn star got elected to parliament. France? They damn near elected Le Pen , a far right nutjob in 2002! Germany, Japan and most of the former axis powers don't even have a legitimate right to snicker. Netherlands had a real prostitute appointed to a cabinet like position, and China and Russia might chuckle, then poison one of thier own candidates. Yeah, I guess South America could point and laugh, between bullets. The Middle East hasn't laughed since the 14th century, but POTUS Sarah wouldn't garner a bellybuster over there, IMHO

I've been all around this great big world, and politics is just as much a carnival over there. I once witnessed an Italian primary where there were so many parties that they had to put pictures on the ballot because there were enough legit candidates and parties that shared the same name!

I think the time is a comin where things will get so bad that we wont give a s*** about who's laughing, as long as they aren't marching or launching.

Le Pen was no where "nearly elected". He got 16% in the first round...and was beaten soundly in the second round when Chirac got 82% of the vote.

I was told: Le Pen made it into the 'second round' of national elections upsetting your hero, Sir Lionel Jospin ..Yeah, he had 16% but there were 12 or 14 other candidates splitting the vote,right? Just like in Italy?

to put this into USA poltikspeak, imagine if Perot, Clinton and Bush sr ( 1992 ) held elections and Perot upset Clinton, and the options were Perot and Bush...Clinton would be single elimination, you did not win, get out.

Even dems at that time were going to go with Bush Sr rather then Perot if Clinton was eliminated. Our system does not work that way, we only have 2 viable parties, and possibly a 3rd, thus Perot garnered 18% of the vote ( similar, yes? ). So, if I say a nut job placed second in a politcal race that often fields 4-5 legit parties, I am correct in stating that in 2002, enough nut jobs in France let this guy have a shot, even if it was a 'Perot' style one. And we all know the result of Perot, yes?

You really don't understand the election of 2002 in France. You are taking a result out of context. And you are comparing the election system of the USA with that in France. Big mistake. The only reason Le Pen beat Jospin by .5% of the vote to make it to the next round was the Socialists parties were fragmented. Also the voters in France purposely abstained from the first round of the elections to protest the choices they were given, knowing full well that Chirac would win by a landslide in the second round. There was NEVER ANY chance of Le Pen getting elected, as you tried to portray in your initial argument. Comparing the election of Palin to Le Pen's beatdown is a poor analogy. I suggest you stick to things you understand.

Getting back on track I think the Republican party is hoping people get behind Palin's media ride therefore it snowballs and a Rebuplican win in 2012. While it may seem I love talking politics now I really don't.I know both parties play smoke and mirrors with the public. What is puzzling is why does the media keep building her up the 1,000,000 question?

1.She quit as govenor meaning she's not committed.
2.She doesn't speak well so who is going to take her seriously.
3.Already announced she wasn't going to run for the presidentcy in 2012.

Yet she continues to be all over the internet,talk shows etc.Why? Is it because she is good looking and were not used to good looking politicians therefore Palin has staying power with the media?

I think some rich guy should put on a debate between Palin and the ousted Miss Universe.Here we have two good looking females that probably can't put two senteneces together but the ratings would be off the charts.

Scout, you have an odd obsession with Sarah Palin. Frankly, I think your entire outlook on the notion of "celebrity" is kinda off. I don't think you quite grasp just how integral it is to American culture and society.

Everybody wants their 15 minutes, and kudos to anyone that tries and successfully milks it to be 60 minutes, which is exactly what Sarah Palin is doing.

I agree with fun gus here. I'm not at all worried about her being a threat to undermine the fabric of America come 2012. I was a bit worried last year because she had a shot at doing something. But as the Republican party restructures itself, I highly doubt at the end of the day Sarah Palin emerges as the person they want leading them into the future. The GOP is definitely the more competent of the two parties.

They'll find someone smart, likeable, and not your run of the mill Republican. Think of it being the wicked son of John McCain circa 2000 and Barack Obama circa 2008. That person is not Sarah Palin. The GOP will use her just for the influence her endorsement may or may not carry 3 years from now. Basically she'll be their Al Gore.

OK guys I'll try and contain myself. I think its more I am tired of hearing about Palin than anything.Get her off the airwaves and it will die down. You do have to admit Pudge why is the media so obsessed over a politician with no substance.Is it saying something about the media it covers good looking people more which seems to be the case.Where are we in society when a good looking person with not alot of substance gets more airwave than the Phyillis Diller who is an Einstein yet her views don't matter. I think it is more fascination with that than anything.
