Pudge: We want a chatroom! :)

Postby dirtybirdnw » Mon Oct 17, 2005 3:21 pm

Well okay... I want a chatroom. What are the chances of getting a chat for Falcfans.com even if it is just for Sundays?

No, I have ways of getting free chatrooms. I'm currently looking into it. Hopefully before this Sunday, I'll have some options for you guys to test out and I guess you can then pick whichever one you like the best.

No they don't. I can write a chat program; however, time constraints for me right now are too great to do so. I would be willing to pay a small membership fee to help Pudge out if needed. I do so over at my favorite Mustang fan site.

It's actually not my site. It's themustangsource.com I've been on there for about two years now. I just bought an 05 Mustang in June.

I'd like to get a 69 or 70 Mustang and do my own BOSS project.

Okay, I've set up a chat room, which can be found at:

http://www.falcfans.com/chat

Go there and it'll be a phpMyChat page, and click on the Register link halfway down. It's pretty simple, it'll be a popup that prompts you for your name, a user name and password, and your e-mail address. Registering is not necessary, you can simply just type in a user name at the phpMyChat page and still be able to enter the room.

I've created a room called FalcFans. It should be listed under the 2nd section for public rooms created by users. If not, you can simply create it (only if you are registered) by going to the next section and picking public and typing in "FalcFans".

Once you enter the FalcFans chat room, you'll see some gibberish I wrote in there just testing it out. You'll probably see that two other users: Buddy and GrandForks entered and exited as well. That was just me testing out different users and their capabilities.

It's not by any means a great chat software, but I think it'll serve the purpose for the short term.

I'm not sure if I'll be in there on Sunday, but if I am what time are people thinking about stopping in?

Thanks Pudge! I'm not sure if I'll be in on Sunday since the Falcons aren't playing. I'll probably be around early while the ESPN pre-game show is on. After that I have church (amazing what one can do when the Falcons aren't on) and then I have plans. I will be there all night for Monday night.

So how did things go? I didn't get the chance to come in because I was working (thus I had to watch the game on DVR). But I plan on being there in 2 weeks for the Dolphins game. Any bugs I need to work on between now an then?

I never did make it (Doh!). I tried for a little bit via my girlfriends laptop with dial-up but that didn't work so well. I didn't see more then 2 people on when I tried either. I'm guessing that has to do with the game playing past midnight.

Hopefully next week will be better.

Well, I should be there for the Dolphins game in 2 weeks.

Maybe, we should all try again this upcoming Sunday around 1, just to give it another test run...

I was in there the whole time, and it worked fine...i like how you can see what everyone else when you join, even if you weren't in the chatroom...

It might be a little laggy if there are 10+ people, but what do i know...

Thought about hooking up your computer in the TV room? That's the beauty of a wireless cable hookup, that you can pretty much hook up your comp in any room of your house/apt!

Not sure if I want to do that might make the living room pretty crowded although it would be fun to chat.
