I enjoyed it - got lucky with a relatively accurate top ten, and a couple of "hunch" picks (Joseph, Lewis) that a lot of people didn't take. Good thing, because I convinced myself that Maroney and Whitner were both overrated.

I'm sure I picked up little bits of info along the way from most of you who are frequent flyers on this board, so for that, I thank you. And, will look forward to defending the crown.

The key is nailling the TOp 10. You got 10 of the first 12 picks right, which basically guaranteed your victory. Funny thing is that you and Absolute, who finished 1 & 2 actually got the most wrong over the last dozen or so picks.

scoring

Postby SmorgasBorgnine » Mon May 01, 2006 6:45 pm

Perhaps next year, the scoring could be tweaked that if you get the pick right on you get 0 points, and if the player is picked one above or below, you get 1 point and so on. The person with the lowest score would be the winner.

I guess having Jarvis Moss and Reggie Nelson slide out of my first round was a bad call after all....

Congrats to thescout.

Thanks WillCall and Pudge much appreciated. After this draft turns out it was a crapshoot you can never predict the first after today's draft.

Thanks again!

Found the results!

Postby thescout » Tue May 01, 2007 12:15 am

Pudge, checked your site at The Huddle Report Gosselin had 53 points, Clark Judge was the leader at 55 points I would rank 6th in that mock draft contest. Guess I'm not good enough for the big boys yet! :P

It's all about nailing the Top 10. You get that, and the rest of the draft falls in place. I did poorly in the Top 10, and thus the rest of my mock sucked. The only pick I got right was JaMarcus Russell.

Who says Pudge was wrong? Those teams that went against my mock made bad picks. That's my story :) and I'm sticking to it.

if i had stuck to my initial draft, and not tried to pick the trades, i think i would have done alright...maybe 9 points instead of my pathetic 4.

next year i'll just stay true to the order...and copy BB's.
