Looking over some of the projected free agents for this off-season. I know most people aren't in a mindset to pay any iota of attention to the 2013 Falcons and beyond, but I just thought I would list a few names that were interesting/intriguing possible fits/targets for the Falcons next off-season:

RB Reggie Bush, Dolphins
RB/KR Mike Goodson, Raiders
FB/TE James Casey, Texans
FB/TE Delanie Walker, 49ers
TE Anthony Fasano, Dolphins
TE Jared Cook, Titans
TE Fred Davis, Redskins
WR/KR Brandon Tate, Bengals
WR/KR Josh Cribbs, Browns
WR Brian Hartline, Dolphins
WR/PR Julian Edelman, Patriots
WR Mike Wallace, Steelers
WR/KR Ted Ginn, 49ers
WR Randy Moss, 49ers

OT Andre Smith, Bengals
OT Branden Albert, Chiefs
OT Jake Long, Dolphins
OT Sebastian Vollmer, Patriots
OT Jermon Bushrod, Saints
OG Geoff Schwartz, Vikings
OG Andy Levitre, Bills
OG Louis Vasquez, Chargers

DT Henry Melton, Bears
DE Cliff Avril, Lions
DT Randy Starks, Dolphins
DT Jason Jones, Seahawks

LB Manny Lawson, Bengals
LB Bryan Scott, Bills
LB Connor Barwin, Texans
LB Daryl Smith, Jaguars
LB Philip Wheeler, Raiders
CB Greg Toler, Cardinals
CB Tony Carter, Broncos
CB Sean Smith, Dolphins
CB Quentin Jammer, Chargers
CB/S Sheldon Brown, Browns
S Ed Reed, Ravens

There's a few guys out there who interest me, including several O linemen. However, I doubt that the FO is going to spend much money on the OL. Clady or Long would be a considerable upgrade over Baker or Clabo. But they will cost 10 mil a year. We're not going to pay that. And truth be told, we probably shouldn't pay that. Then again, if Matt Ryan is the future of the team, then protecting him has to be priority #1.

Another idea would be to go after Reggie Bush. Bush, Rodgers, and Snelling would be a pretty interesting backfield. Of course, in that scenario, I would expect the I formation to all but disappear.

So Bryan Scott has evolved from CB to S to LB? He has been in the league a long time. I did not know he was still playing. The orginal Falcon piano man. Another one of those guys we could not use--like M Boley--who seem to have been solid NFLers.

I don't see spending big bucks on R Bush, Robt. Do the two Longs chosen before Matt Ryan come close in value to their respective teams? Seems to me Baker has done a decent job this year.

Yeah, the Bills use Scott as a nickel linebacker, a role he apparently does a pretty good job in. I think that's what is missing from the Falcons LB group. If for no other reason than to help stop Graham & Sproles.

I always liked Scott. I think that he took a heavy duty hit, and started playing scared. You can't do that as a safety. As a Nickel LB, that scenario shouldn't be as much of an issue. I'd be down with bringing him back.

And yeah, I don't see us spending big bucks on Bush. But I also don't want to see us using high draft picks on RB's when we have issues at OG, OT, DE, DT, and LB, assuming that Gonzo doesn't retire, which leaves a big friggin hole at TE.

Another list, which ranks the players somewhat (I think it's heavily influenced by PFF's grades)

http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/nfl/4 ... st-13?pg=1

Some other intriguing names to add to the list:

QB David Garrard - knows system, would be a "plus" No. 2.
RB Jackie Battle - short-yardage replacement for Turner?
WR Johnny Knox - if healthy, he'd be ideal No. 3 WR.
OT Jeff Otah - possible fit at RG if he's healthy and motivated?
DE Dwight Freeney - Freeney + Abe = Jizz face
DT Sedrick Ellis - Salvageable talent?
LB Jonathan Casillas - Solution to the Sproles Problem?
CB Rashean Mathis - Big Nickel?
CB Darius Butler - Big Nickel?
CB Cedric Griffin - Big Nickel?
CB/S Alan Ball - Big Nickel?
KR Richard Goodman (RFA) - I have an affinity for him that approaches my love for Weems
