Just thinking about this today, just looking back on some TD trades. You be the judge:


CHRIS HOUSTON TRADE

Falcons got 6th in 2010 (Shann Schillinger) and 7th in 2011 (Andrew Jackson) from Lions in exchange for Houston.

Houston

LAURENT ROBINSON TRADE

Falcons got 5th in 2009 (William Middleton) and 6th in 2009 (Spencer Adkins) from Rams in exchange for Robinson, 5th in 2009 (Brooks Foster) and 6th in 2009 (Keith Null)

Robinson's combined production the past 3 years:

172 targets, 101 catches, 1378 yards, 13.6 avg, 4.1 YAC avg, 14 TDs, 11 drops

Falcons combined production of No. 4 WRs the past 3 years (Brian Finneran 2009-10, Weems 2011):

58 targets, 41 catches, 367 yards, 9.0 avg, 3.1 YAC avg, 3 TDs, 3 drops

Still think Chris Houston is overrated. He just doesn't have enough ball skills to be truly good enough at corner. That being said, Dunta isn't much better.

Trading a 3rd string QB picked in the 2nd round for a first round pick.

That Brett Favre trade worked out well.

He was absolute garbage here. Favre gets absolutely all of the blame for that trade for not being able to grow up. If the substance abuse policy/testing was as stringent then as it is now, you wouldn't be quite so thrilled with him.

Gotta love how players can abuse drugs more common with white athletes (pain killers, alcohol) with little repercussion, but heaven forbid they light a joint. Just sayin', and I don't mean to offend anyone and hope this isn't perceived as racist. Please correct me if it is.

I don't think it's racist, just an over-generalization. I think nowadays most people know and accept that athletes partake in the ganja from time to time. I think it's more about just not getting caught that pisses people off.

I don't disagree with any of these trades as far as the Falcons are concerned. I do believe that Robinson can be a decent #2 WR for the right team though. I could be wrong, and I'm too drunk/lazy to look it up, but IIRC LRob's QB's have been: Leftwich, Harrington, Redman, Rookie Bradford, and Rookie Bradford's back-up. I think that he can be a Roddy-esque type talent in the right system.
