Wow that is depressing. Feel bad for the guy, he has worked hard. He is arguably the worst guy to lose on defense. I hope our offense continues to score 40 a game cause the pass defense is about to go to s*** unless we find a pass rush.

Well I would not expect him back in a Falcon uniform next year, unless he's amenable to come back on the very cheap.

A huge loss for our defense, and our ability to slant/win matchups in the secondary is over. Now we're back to where we were last year. At least we still have Samuel, but Dunta Robinson still remains.

We can't do any shopping. Grimes going to IR doesn't remove that 10 million from our cap. Let's hope/pray that the remnants of our secondary can hold teams to fewer points than we score.

There's really not a bright side to this. All I can say is that I'm glad that Grimes got 10 million, and I'm glad that we don't owe him anything beyond this year.

Absolutely heartbreaking to hear this. Everyone knows I was the biggest Grimes hater but then his 2010 performance won me over big time. He was becoming one of the most elite cornerbacks. Falcons don't have many elite players on their roster, they are very good or overrated. Losing an elite player just kills. The one thing I will say is Grimes isn't the most valuable piece on defense. The secondary has some depth unlike the other two positions. Abraham and Weatherspoon seem to be more valuable just based on the lack of guys in their respective position that can play.

I'm a Devin Hester guy.
