Rams Cut Ovie, do we bring him back?

Rams cut Ovie, and we dumped Cox. Do you think we'll bring him back for a song?

This just shows letting Ovie go was smart!!

Nah. He fit into VG's offense, but I don't see him melding (with the exception of short and goal) with the new scheme. Good or Bad, I don't see us running a ton of power leads this season. I suspect this is the same reason the Rams (5-wide, sling and ding style) cut him. It really has little to do with his abilities as a power FB. It's kind of a shame. The "new" NFL rules (you honestly can't even F'ing breathe on a WR or QB) are gonna make the Ovies of the world extinct very very soon. Welcome to Arena Football friend. :roll:

Id love to see him back. We need a good lead blocker, even if we don't use him much.

IDK, it all depends on his physical condition after the injury. The fact that we let him go, and the Rams let him go, not a good sign as to how recovered he is imho.

The question here is Ovie worth cutting Mike Cox? I think so. That Polite fellow looked pretty good so far..

If he would take the vet minimum, I would sign him and dump Cox. :ninja:

Well, since we let him go within 24 hours after doctors cleared him, I don't think our cutting him had anything to do with his physical condition. It had everything to do with money.

Apparently the Rams cut Ovie because they like Brit Miller's ST play better: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1318 ... -job-again

Other people's assessments seem to suggest that Ovie was very likely to make the roster, which makes me believe they cut him with the intention of not guaranteeing his salary by having him on the roster Week 1. So I suspect we'll see the Rams re-sign him Monday or Tuesday next week.
