What movies did I miss I should see?

What movies did I miss I should see?

Postby thescout » Thu Nov 10, 2011 7:29 am

Since I've been home from the ship for about 2 weeks trying to figure out what good movies to see. I've been gone 3 months so I missed a few I'm sure. I just saw Moneyball starring Brad Pitt. It was interesting however I knew the theory before I saw it .I just found it very slow paced and disjointed overall. I'd rent it if I could do over. Real Steel is getting great ratings by fans so I'll see that next starring Hugh Jackman. Any others I need to see?

I have neglected going to the movies over the past few months, from what I've heard: Drive, Warrior, and Moneyball were pretty good.

Just saw Captain America and it's a good popcorn movie. At the end of the movie they show a small preview of the Avenger movie coming out May 2012. They have Iron Man,Thor,Captain America and some others. Not sure who the opponent is off the top of my head, Should be a real good movie with that lineup.

I couldn't remember if you had missed the summer movie season either.

My favorites from the Summer were X-Men First Class, Captain America, Harry Potter, and while I saw neither, I heard on good authority that Horrible Bosses and Rise of the Planet of the Apes were good.

I left July 28th so I barely missed Captain America in the theaters. I saw Horrible Bosses it was good. Rise of the Plantet of the apes I need to see that. Not a Harry Potter fan. Today I'm seeing J Edgar so that should be good. I see Real Steel is an A rating stars Hugh Jackman another movie that I must see on the big screen.

Saw J. Edgar last night and thought it was good. DiCaprio is really one of the better "star" actors going, IMO. A bit of a departure for him trying to play an historical character. Sets were terrific. It might be sort of slow for some people's tastses but the historical context of Hoover was interesting to me as he was always couched in the late 60s skull and dagger perception to me. You never know how much of these Hollywood biopics are using artistic license but with C. Eastwood as producer I think you might get a bit more accurcay than O. Stone. Who knows? Pretty good though very few big tits and car crashes if that is more your thing.
