Some may recall Vance Johnson, one of Elway's preferred targets during his career. His 19-year old son died when an oncoming SUV turned into the path of his motorcycle. Almost identical to how Big Ben went down, clearly shows just how close it could have been.

Motorcycle deaths have doubled the last ten years. Here in Germany, it is really bad. The open road is a hard place to ride, for a cyclist or a biker.

What a terrible tragedy! I hate being anywhere near a motorcycle on the Interstate.

He was one of the Three Amigos, right? As I recall he had lots of kids and court cases for them. Sorry to hear this. Does anyone else find it ironic they can give you (or Mike Vick!) a ticket for driving without a seatbelt but it is legal to drive a motorbike? I have a son just a couple years younger than this. It would nearly kill you to lose one like that.

Accidents like that are a tragedy for any family.

On the subject of Vance, he was one of the three Amigos and I believe he was the receiver who caught that bullet touchdown pass to finish up "the Drive".

He had great hands and could catch a ball shot out of a cannon (which Elway's passes generally resembled).

I thought it was Mark Jackson that capped off the Drive.

Come to think of it - I'm pretty sure you are right. Vance was a good one though.
