The next great center Nacho Fall Junior High School

Postby thescout » Thu Apr 10, 2014 11:02 pm

Came across this article today very interesting. The kid is only a junior in high school/ Could he grow some more? Looks fairly coordinated also as a big man. The ball looks pretty small in his hands. I think the Atlanta Hawks need to sign this kid right now.

Read a stat that said 17% of 7 footers have played in the NBA. Does make you wonder why this kids stats aren't that impressive. I bet if most of us were 7 ft 5 we would be shooting for the NBA as well. There is no reason not to dominate if your coordinated.

It's like 98% of this kid's shots are dunks. How is this kid going to react when someone puts a body on him. I'll admit he doesn't have to jump very high to dunk the ball. Make you wonder if Robert Wadlow *tallest person ever) if he played ball and was coordinated who could stop him . Wadlow was 8 ft 11 inches but couldn't move at all. I have to think sometime in the next 60 yrs will probably see a near 8 ft tall man who is coordinated and utterly dominate.

It'll be interesting.

1 in 6 7 footers have played in the NBA huh? But how many of them have been good? I know there have been several like Shaq, Kareem, David Robinson, but it does seem like there are a lot more big men that have excelled in the NBA that have been in that Tim Duncan and Alonzo Mourning range which is 6-10 or 6-11.

I guess that 17% figure indicates just how many people are in fact coordinated enough to play in the NBA. 83% of the population probably doesn't even have a scrap of athletic ability then, regardless of size. And probably compared to people that are 5-11 or 6-3, it's a lot higher percentage. But since there's a lot more people 6-3, you probably have some number like 0.1% of people that are 6-3 even played basketball in college or something.
