The Most Important Factors To A New Creature’s Walk

1. Belief – This step is vital to seeing God’s hand move in your life. Without belief in God’s Word and the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, there is no access to the things of the kingdom of the Living God. John 3:16 says that “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” The only way to this salvation in Christ is to believe. Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6)

2. Trust – In order to be able to experience the full extent of God’s promises, we must learn to trust Him. Things will get hard. Jesus said that in this world, we would have tribulation (John 16:33). This life will not be a cakewalk. To every thing, there is a season. Some seasons will feel as if nothing can stop your flow or bring you down. Others will feel as if the weight of the world is on your shoulders. But one thing is true, God moves on His time. And there is nothing we can do about that if we have made a decision to live according to His Word. In those strenuous times, we will be tempted to do things in our own strength. This is where trust comes in. We must develop an unshakable trust in the Lord. Patience is key for this step.

3. Submission – This step encapsulates the two other steps. Many times we are instructed to be submissive to God’s Word and we must do so without wavering. We cannot be impartial to God’s Word, but we must choose to allow the Holy Spirit to chasten us when that time comes. We must also apply the lessons learned during chastisement. This is important because it displays the intent of being obedient. When the Lord knows that he can trust you, there is then room for a greater manifestation of Himself and His blessings. Obedience is also a characteristic of a child of God. Jesus said if we love Him, we should keep his commandments (John 14:15). Can you imagine a child who willfully disobeyed your every command and then in the same breath turned around and told you how much he or she loves you? Our words should line up with our actions as children of the Lord.
