Thanks for posting Emmitt,Mariah's my all time fav singer but there is no doubt she acts like a diva from this to other reports. Some of these people need slapped and humbled. Their just one tiny person among the universe.

Well for me I think like millions it's the great voice. There are pretenders out there like Brittany Spears but the real singers like Christina,Mariah and younger Whitney could sing the most simplest tunes and your hooked. For me her voice strikes the balance of power and soulfulness. There's really a fine line because I'm sure there's at least 100's of other singers if not 1000's that have a soulful voice but still something magical when Mariah sings and very few singers have that it factor. Its the difference of taking a 100 or 1000 other Mariah wannebes. Also consider those who come up with that style first are consider innovators. Now I am sure before Mariah there are extreme soulful singers but also consider the place and time. The early 90's was bursting with Whitney,Taylor Dayne,Mariah and others with that type of music. Music kept evolving through the 90's when those type of singers were needed. Then came Brittany all the rap stuff and we more or less lost what a real singer meant or could do. Christina A probably is right up there with Mariah but still real singing is hard to find today with all the crap being put out.

I just think Mariah goes over the top to much and seems to have that diva attitude. She came from humble beginings but money and fame have spoiled her mostly. She does good things helping charities but still there is that attitude of I'm better than you all should be humbled by my presence type of thing. I guess there is a way to carry yourseilf with dignity and grace rather than go over the top. I think most people like down to earth people and from the media Mariah is portray as a diva.

I was mainly refering what makes Mariah so special. The M and M vs Mariah battle. Just a spat between female and male.

I do, not as much as I used to though.

He peaked with the Eminem Show in 2002, and it's been steadily downhill since then as far as his music goes. I guess that's what happens when your shtick is rapping about all of the personal problems you have in life, and then eventually those problems go away, you don't have much to rap about.

I can't disagree with you, but encore was still pretty great. Who are your favorites out right now out of wondering, since nobody likes hip-hop in falcfans.

I wasn't a fan of Encore, only 2 songs on there that I liked.

I realized over the holidays that I've reached the age where I've gotten "old" and set in my ways as far as my musical taste.

I like Jay-Z, Nas, T.I., Ludacris, Kanye, Lil Wayne, Outkast, and Jeezy is growing on me. 2 of those people are in jail, and 3 more are practically retired. So nobody out now.

How many rap songs are you going to remember 15-20 years from now? A tune that can stand the test of time is more meaningful than alot of music today. Stretching it further think anyone will remember Miley Cyrus's, or the other girl that wins all the awards today. Nope, to much bubble gum music out there here today gone tomorrow. Bring Tone Loc back.

You'll remember them. You'll remember annoying jingles to commercials you sort of wish you could forget. Has nothing to do with whether it is good or bad. At one time the Stones were considered edgy. I still love music, however, probably more to play than listen to but you reach a point where the pursuit of it represents a much smaller percentage of your time.

For the people that listen to rap, they will remember a great many.

At certain clubs, if they play old Biggie songs, the club goes crazy. And his songs came out in 1994, which is...15 years ago.

There's no accounting for taste.

Not bad. I know you met Jay-Z saw it on your FB. I dislike him since I do think he is a biter on lyrics.
Nas is a legend
T.I was great before he got all poppy. Trap Muzic and Urban Legend was great.
Kayne is annoying, although I really like College dropout. I am not really a fan.
Lil Wayne is complete garbage.
Ludacris is the man.
Young Jeezy is nasty. Thug Motivation, The Inspiration, The Recession were all great.

Some other artists you should check out

Chamillionaire- He is the most undiscovered talent. People know him for ridin, trust me he is more than that.
Oj Da Juiceman/Gucci Mane- If you like to hear catchy stuff listen to this. Otherwise, they are pure garbage. They are just really catchy.
Cassidy- He is complete dope.
Fabolous- Another underrated artist from NYC.

That's actually my brother in that pic with Jay-Z. My brother was there for a semester study abroad , and when my dad went out there to visit him, he and Jay-Z were staying in the same hotel, and my brother ran into him as he was checking in.

My cousins are fans of Gucci Mane, and since they've stayed with me for the past 6 months, I've learned to appreciate him more. Although Juice man is garbage.

I like the others, but they aren't my faves.

It seems like you have some great knowledge. I agree with you on the Juiceman part he is garbage, although if you listened to this song it's the most catchiest thing I ever listened to. It's my annual feel good jam.

What do the following poems have in common?

They can be used as rap tunes or part of Anrew Dice Clay's comedy sketch.

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey,

Along came a spider who sat down beside her,
And frightened Miss Muffet away!

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck one
The mouse ran down,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck two
And down he flew,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck three
And he did flee,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck four,
He hit the floor,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck five,
The mouse took a dive,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck six,
That mouse, he split,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck seven,
8, 9, 10, 11,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
As twelve bells rang,
The mousie sprang,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
"Why scamper?" asked the clock,
"You scare me so
I have to go!
Hickory Dickory Dock
