So far Avatar is getting a B + at yahoo with moviegoers which is good. James loves this movie so I think it is one we should all see.Anyone that sees this movie please post your thoughts and grade.

Went and watched Blindside the other day and saw the trailer for this one. It looks like one of those incredible, amazing wonders of cinematic achievement that I'll completely hate. My so will love it. It's funny...years ago in the old movie the Ten Commandments when Moses through down the sticks and they turned into snakes we were stupefied. Now they can do almost anything one's imagine can conjure with computer animation and it feels like a cold fish.

Movie people love James Cameron and Clint Eastwood. Both guys could make a movie about people taking dumps and they would consider it masterpieces.

I plan on seeing Avatar, and I'll basically be looking for how cool it looks rather than whether the story is really engaging. I think I'll be making my first visit to an IMAX theater to see it in like 12 years. I usually avoid IMAX because in the past I've gotten headaches and nausea.

I expect Avatar to about revolutionize the industry and its special effects. I can't think of another movie like this and will probably see more of it. Toy Story did when it came out awhile ago.I am not sure hw many movies can be made before the public gets tired of these special effects.

Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and the Matrix also were "revolutionary" movies as well.

didn't like any of those. Didn't Cameron do Titanic? That was fairly horrible. He just seems to rely on dazzling special effects with no story. Clint makes a clunker now and then as a director but he is typically pretty good. I'm a Clint fan from way back but I know he has starred in some pretty bad movies. However, when he directs he is generally quite good.

Clint is a good director. I've yet to see a bad film by him. But when you read reviews of his films, people act like that we all become better people for having spent 2 hours watching them. I like many of his movies like Unforgiven, Gran Torino, and Heartbreak Ridge. Million Dollar Baby is a good movie, but I think it's one of the worst endings ever.

But whenever a new Clint movie comes out, you start to hear all these slurp sounds. Critics act like he's God's gift to movie-making. He's no Spielberg.

Other flicks that James Cameron did:

Terminator
Aliens (2nd one)
Terminator 2
True Lies

His action movies tend to be good. Avatar I guess is like Dances with Wolves but with more action and hopefully less sentimental voice-over.

I went to see Avatar last night in IMAX 3-D, I must say that I have never seen a movie that was as visually captivating as Avatar then the story line and the lead acting was great to the Colonel aka Papa Dragon will go down as one of my favorite characters in movie history. The movie is long but there is never really a dull moment in the whole movie, the storyline was great and believable the war at the end is just amazing. I liked the movie but IMAX 3D is the way to experience this film. I have seen alot of movies as of late where I thought they were building up to this great climax then it ends lame(brothers, knowing, the last indiana jones movie,War of the Worlds just to name a few lol) but Avatar kept you on the edge of your seat. I recommend that everyone go check it out........ in IMAX 3D of course :D

Saw it this afternoon in 3-D, and I give this movie a 10 out of 10 ! Best special effects ever, awesome 3D and the story itself is top notch. The crowd was applauding loudly at the end and I was too. This is one of the best non comedy's I've seen in years :D

I hate when people applaud at the end of movies. What are we French?

I saw it last night in IMAX 3D. I say the same thing everybody else has said: visually stunning, but the story was old news.

Supposedly, Cameron has ideas for 2 more movies. We'll have to see if the stories/plots get any better for the sequels.
