My first novel has just been released by Harpercollins...

Postby buddyboy » Tue Oct 27, 2009 3:22 pm

Hey guys, the illustrious Pudge has given me permission to plug my first novel, which came out last month. The publisher is Harpercollins. It's a southern gothic/coming of age story entitled "Wait Until Twilight".
It can be found on amazon and every other online bookseller as well as most major bookstores in the US.

http://www.amazon.com/Wait-Until-Twilig ... 631&sr=8-1

Feel free to google it, most of ther reviews have been quite positive so far.

Here's the summary blurb on the back cover:

A hauntingly strange and powerful affecting debut novel that heralds the arrival of a unique and captivating literary voice. Sang Pak’s Wait Until Twilight is a coming of age story that explores the complex darkness infecting a damaged psyche in a small Southern town.

Not long after his own mother’s death, sixteen-year-old Samuel discovers a set of deformed triplets hidden behind closed doors in his sleepy Georgia community. The babies-whose shut in mother believes they were immaculately conceived and whose menacing brother is a constant threat-take control of Samuel’s every waking and sleeping though. His only escape he realizes will be to save the monster children. But to do so he must rein in his darkest impulses as he undergoes a profound transformation from a motherless boy to a self defined man- because sometimes the most terrible monsters are those that live inside us all.

I know most on here are guys so even if you don't read feel free to tell the wifey or girlfriend!
Thanks all!

I might check it out. It's not my usual genre (sci-fi, fantasy, or historical fiction), but I'm looking for something to read between now and January when the next Bernard Cornwell novel comes out, so you might get some feedback in the coming months.

That's great, man. I've always thought about writing a book of some sort but...well, I'm a lazy SOB. Quite an accomplishment. Sounds vaguely Flannery O'Conner-ish?

Hey that would be very cool. I'm all up for some feedback so feel free to lay it on me.

Thanks! Yeah, laziness will squelch any writing endeavor very quickly. The best motivation I think is desperation. And you're absolutely right about the Flannery connection. I'm a big fan of hers and I've included some of that darkness and violence she has in her stuff.
