Tim Masthay
6-2/198 Kentucky
4.78 Senior

Pros: Has a strong leg and consistently gets good hang time. Is a good kickoff guy that has the leg to drive the ball into the end zone.

Cons: Will line drive some kicks and out kick his coverage. Needs a bit more polish as a directional punter.

Overview: Masthay has good potential because of his big leg and ability as a kickoff guy. Shaw significant improvement in his production average nearly 46 yards per punt this past year, after averaging under 40 for 3 straight years.

NFL Forecast: He'll need some work as a directional punter, but shows potential there. He'll need some time to develop, but should be ready to compete in the league as one of the better kickers in three or so years. His ability as a kickoff guy can make him valuable for a lot of teams with aging kickers. He's probably not going to impact right away, but could impress a team early with his leg strength enough to merit them giving him a chance.

ATL Forecast: Masthay has a similar skill set as Koenen, making him an ideal insurance policy to stick on the practice squad for a year. And in case of injury, he'd be one of the first young punters the Falcons should call.

Value: Masthay isn't polished up enough yet to merit a draft pick but should be one of the top candidates to get signed as a free agent.
