Jason Bondzio
5-9/168 Arizona
4.75 Senior

Pros: Has a nice strong leg. Has a maximum optimal field goal range that appears to be around 52 or so yards. As a kickoff guy, shows ability to get all his kicks inside the 10-yard line, with many going to the end zone. Shows nice concentration as a field goal kicker, not delaying his motion on bad snaps and holds.

Cons: Lacks consistency in the accuracy department as a field goal kicker.

Overview: He gets the benefit of kicking in a warm, higher altitude of Tucson, AZ. Made 83% of his field goals in two seasons.

NFL Forecast: Bondzio is the type of player that can contribute right away as a kickoff specialist. Whether he'd be great in that role remains to be seen, but he has the leg strength to probably be at least as capable as a third of the kickoff guys in the league right away. As a field goal kicker, it's probably going to take him a bit more time to develop. But after two or three years, he should be an effective field goal kicker as he refines his techniques and hones his craft. But he's not the type of guy that I think can come in and take the league by storm right away. He could be a decent rookie kicker, but the type of guy that seemingly would struggle to connect on above 75% of his field goals early on in his career.

ATL Forecast: Bondzio would be a nice option to try and groom behind Elam for the Falcons. His kickoff prowess is not as big an asset due to the presence of Michael Koenen, but he would probably be much more effective in a dome than outdoors because it would help on his accuracy and consistency due to the lack of elements. He could sit on the practice squad for a year or two as the Falcons wait for Elam to either start to slow down via age or for his contract to expire, whichever comes first.

Value: Don't draft Bondzio, but bring him to camp and maybe he could surprise you.
