Pros: Has nice speed (faster than he times) that does a decent job in run support. Has decent ball skills and works well on punt coverage.
Cons: Not as physical as you want and is undersized vs. the run. Doesn't consistently wrap as a tackler. Takes some poor angles. Has poor hips in coverage. Gets caught out of position both vs. the run and pass.
Overview: Coleman is the much lesser teammate of Hodge and plays free safety. He really doesn't play the run or pass all that well. Led team in interceptions with 3 in both years as a starter.
NFL Forecast: He doesn't have a bright future in the NFL unless he can impact on special teams. Lacks size, speed, and upside to be anything more than a backup. He doesn't do anything particularly well enough that merits more development. He could stick around for a few years if he proves a capable special teams player, but I don't see any long term upside.
ATL Forecast: Coleman can push for playing time, and if he proves to be a really good special teams player might actually surprise me and make the Falcons roster. But he's not a long-term option and doesn't look like he can be developed into a starter. He'll stick around for a year or two and then be replaced.
Value: Lacks the upside or strengths to merit being picked. Take him as an undrafted free agent.
