5-10/167 Miami FL
Pros: Shows good footwork, quickness, and speed. Has nice hips and shows potential in man coverage. Shows nice skills in zone and does a nice job keeping things in front of him. Willing in run support. Has good hands and ball skills.
Cons: Undersized and not a good tackler. Lacks great hips.
Overview: He's a skinny guy but is a nice man corner with upside there. Has past experience working as a kickoff returner and punt returner as a sophomore, but production didn't stand out there.
NFL Forecast: I could see Johnson becoming a solid starter at the next level, but probably won't ever be a star. But should be effective at not giving up too many plays. Looks like he'd fit very well in a man coverage scheme. At the very least, I expect him to be a very good nickel cornerback. With the potential to start down the road. Probably will need to come off the bench for the first few years, but after two or three seasons should be ready to challenge for and handle a starting position. Probably needs to add another 15 pounds though, since he's fairly skinny.
ATL Forecast: Johnson could work in Atlanta, although the Falcons probably play more zone than is ideal for him. He wouldn't be star, but
think after a few seasons would be good enough to start in Atlanta. He's a similar player to Chris Houston, and could potentially be considered a replacement for Houston in two or so years. But more than likely, Johnson would be a backup in Atlanta, but a capable one.
Value: Johnson is worth a middle round pick. He'd be worth a late third round pick, but probably is a fourth rounder.
