Jason McCourty
5-10/183 Rutgers
4.32 Senior

Pros: Has potential as a press corner. Shows awareness in zone and does a nice job keeping things in front of him. Effective as a kickoff returner due to his quickness and speed.

Cons: Doesn't have good hips and struggles in man coverage. Not great coming out of his breaks. As a returner, dances a bit too much. Has trouble turning and running on deep routes and lacks ball skills. Tends to be a step or half a step slow in breaking up the play.

Overview: He's mostly a special teams player, although he might be a decent reserve at the next level. Has a twin brother, Devin, that has another year at Rutgers.

NFL Forecast: He'll have to impact special teams early in order to stick at the next level. He's got a brighter future as a return threat than at cornerback. But is competent and might be a decent No. 4 option in a zone-heavy scheme. But he's not going to be a starter. If he can stick early and play well on special teams then he can last in the league. He won't be a great kickoff returner at the next level, but certainly good enough to hold the spot for a team for a few seasons.

ATL Forecast: McCourty could help the Falcons on special teams, but that's about it. He would be hard-pressed to leap frog guys like Grimes or Hutchins on the roster, and basically would be duking it out with Irons for the roster spot. He could make the roster potentially due to his kickoff return abilities. But the only value to the team would be to replace Irons and potentially Norwood on kickoffs.

Value: Unless you really like him as a kickoff returner, then don't draft him. If so, then maybe you look at him late in the seventh round. But instead, just sign him to a free agent contract.
