Rashad Bobino
5-10/238 Texas
4.76 Senior

Pros: Does a good job in pursuit. Shows some potential in coverage as far as awareness, and is effective in short zone coverage.

Cons: Struggles at the point of attack, getting caught up in traffic vs. the inside run. Lacks burst or speed to really be a factor sideline to sideline or in space. Has trouble in man coverage due to lack of quickness. Not a playmaker. Has only adequate instincts and will take some poor angles to the ball.

Overview: Bobino plays a combination outside/inside linebacker as the Longhorns often use both the 3-4 and 4-3. He really is just another guy on that defense that gets by because of the talent that surrounds him. A four-year starter mainly at middle linebacker had a career low 39 tackles as a senior.

NFL Forecast: He projects best as an inside linebacker in the 3-4, since he lacks the speed to play outside and the size to play inside in the 4-3. He’s a guy that can stick in the NFL if he excels on special teams, but offers little as far as regular defense goes. Might be a decent backup, but I’d say that the best you could probably hope for is another Larry Izzo. And if he isn’t as good as Izzo is on special teams, he’ll probably be out of the league with two or three years.

ATL Forecast: Unless the Falcons were planning on moving to a more hybrid 4-3/3-4 defense, I wouldn’t target Bobino. He might be an OK backup, but there are numerous prospects that better fit the scheme and have greater upside that can fill a similar role.

Value: Worth bringing to camp for a 3-4 team as an undrafted free agent, but you’d be wasting a pick by drafting him.
