Jameson Hartke 6-4/265 Ohio 4.78 Senior
Pros: Has a nice motor.
Cons: Lacks edge speed and closing burst to make the stop as a pass rusher. Lacks strength when playing inside and gets pushed around at the point of attack.
Overview: Played end his first three seasons, but moved to under tackle this past year. Too small to play that at the next level. Best year came as a sophomore when he had 7.5 sacks. Only 6 combined the past two years.
NFL Forecast: He's one of those players that has the motor to get a look in the NFL, but really needs to get bigger to be any sort of legit prospect. Could eventually make a move to DE in the 3-4 scheme, or potentially be a decent rotation guy in the 4-3, but he lacks upside. He'd be hard-pressed to stick in the league as he tries to get bigger. One of those players that if he could get up to around 290 or so, might be worth a look, but until he does, not going to do much. I could see him as a Travis Kirschke-type down the line. Let him go to Canada or another league for a couple of years and do your development for you.
ATL Forecast: If the Falcons could hide Hartke for two or three years as he bulks up, then he might make a decent fourth tackle down the road, but since they probably can't, he'd be hard-pressed to impact this team in any major way.
Value: One of those borderline prospects that probably isn't really worth a camp invite. Instead let him sign on with a team in another league and talk to him a couple of years down the road.
