Ryan Durand
6-5/305 Syracuse
5.10 Senior

Pros: Shows some potential as a drive blocker. Has the quickness to get out to the second level. Shows decent footwork in pass protection and does a nice job adjusting in space.

Cons: Lacks strength and gets pushed back into the pocket. Not quick off the snap as a run blocker. Whiffs on too many blocks on the second level.

Overview: Durand plays well in Syracuse's zone blocking scheme, but lacks great upside for the next level. A three-year starter at right guard.

NFL Forecast: Durand could be a decent backup in a zone blocking scheme, but lacks great upside. He could be a nice utility blocker, because I think he wouldn't be overmatched if he played offensive tackle as well as guard at the next level. He's a guy that can be effective, but doesn't do anything well enough to really impress. But does enough that he can stick as a reserve. If he adds strength he could be a nice backup. But don't expect him to really challenge for a starting position.

ATL Forecast: If the Falcons can make Durand into a versatile player capable of playing multiple positions, he could be a decent upgrade over his former teammate Ojinnaka as an utility player. But he's not the athlete that Ojinnaka is, and potentially could be even more overmatched than Ojinnaka when he plays. At best, he'll be a decent backup guard that can get some reps at tackle. But after a few years, he'd be replaced by someone with greater upside.

Value: Durand isn't worth drafting, but a team should bring him to camp and see if he can stick.
