Pros: Is a decent position blocker that has nice mobility. Works well out of the shotgun.
Cons: Lacks size and strength. Gets pushed around and can be easily bull rushed. Too easily beat by swim move and whiffs on too many blocks. Doesn't take out linebackers efficiently on the second level. Has little pop off the snap and offers little in the running game.
Overview: He's a limited player that has marginal upside for the next level. He was a three-year starter at center, that started as a right tackle as a freshman.
NFL Forecast: Teams might like his versatility and experience playing multiple positions, but McDonald really is a limited player. He really doesn't do anything well to project well to the NFL. He might be able to land on a practice squad for a year or two, but eventually will be replaced.
ATL Forecast: McDonald is essentially a camp body that really has little to no chance of making an impact in Atlanta.
Value: Not worth drafting, but some team might sign him as a camp body.
