Rich Orhnberger
6-2/297 Penn State
Senior

Pros: Gets good position and takes nice angles. Does a nice job pulling and on trap blocks, and effective on the second level. Initiates contact and effective in a short area. finishes his blocks.

Cons: Lacks size and strength. Not quick off the snap and doesn't get much pop in the ground game. Gets pushed back in pass protection and needs to improve his base. Lunges and needs to refine his technique. Lacks athleticism.

Overview: Started at both guard spots, the last two at left guard. He is an effective blocker, but I think was greatly aided by being sandwiched between two superior players in Cadogan and Shipley. He fits nicely in a zone blocking scheme.

NFL Forecast: He'll project well to a team that likes undersized zone blockers. He's an effective guy but is nothing special, and would probably need to be masked by better players like he was in college to be really effective as a pro. But he gets the job done, and teams might be willing to give him some work at center to see if he can stick there. If he can, that would make him a versatile interior player and should at least be able to buy him a few more years as a backup.

ATL Forecast: Orhnberger projects mainly as a backup here in Atlanta. Unless he takes well to the center position, then it's doubtful he has much potential to start. But he could serve as a nice utility interior player that can be the first blocker off the bench. But he's not the guy you want playing for extended periods, not unless he gets a lot stronger.

Value: Orhnberger is a nice late round prospect, that if a team likes his potential at center, might be willing to sneak in the late sixth. But more than likely, you should wait until the seventh.
