Devin Frischknecht, TE, Washington State

Devin Frischknecht
6-3/256 Washington State
4.83 Senior

Pros: Has nice hands and shows nice concentration. Secures the ball after the catch and shows nice ability as a runner, with the speed and quickness to make guys miss in the open field. Gets a good release. And is a capable blocker because he gets after guys and keeps his legs driving.

Cons: Will body catch at times. Needs to get stronger.

Overview: He's a nice sleeper candidate that is an underrated blocker and capable receiver. Like his teammate Brandon Gibson, Frischknecht was probably hurt by the horrid quarterback play at Washington State. Was more productive as a junior backup than as a starting receiver. Former JUCO transfer.

NFL Forecast: Frischnkecht has the size to be a nice H-back, but I think if he can get bigger he shouldn't have major issues being an inline blocker. He's not a guy that I think will be a star, but could be a nice outlet receiver for a team. He has upside worth developing and is the type of guy that virtually comes from nowhere to be a solid starter like a Kevin Boss or Eric Johnson. He should be a solid pro with starter potential, but at the very least will be a reliable reserve.

ATL Forecast: He could be a nice sleeper for the Falcons. He'll sit the bench early, but within two years if he's developed as a blocker will be a nice option off the bench. He'll probably be used mainly as an H-back in Atlanta, but has potential to be a solid two-way starter within three or four years. Won't be a star, but a nice guy that in Mularkey's offense could be a nice 30-catch guy.

Value: He's a late round pick that it wouldn't be a stretch to take in the fifth round, but I'd probably aim for the sixth.
