Louis Murphy
6-3/207 Florida
4.43 Senior

Pros: He's got good speed and can stretch the field vertically. Has nice burst and acceleration. Has soft, strong hands and shows ability to extend for the ball. Has nice body control. Shows some willingness as a blocker downfield.

Cons: Seems tentative as a blocker. Needs to improve as a route-runner. Not always aggressive going after the ball.

Overview: He's a capable receiver, but not a go-to threat in Florida's offense. But he's a nice complementary receiver. Only began playing receiver as a senior in high school. Didn't play much his first two years at Florida, but was a semi-productive starter his last two.

NFL Forecast: He needs some polish particularly as a route runner. But he shows nice skills worth developing at the next level. I'm not sure he'll be a reliable starter, but could be a nice third receiver. He can stretch the field, able to work both inside and outside. Although he appears better when he's lined up outside. I think he's probably going to be like the classic spread receiver that Florida produces like Darrell Jackson and Jabar Gaffney. Good players, but not always consistent playmakers, and for most of their careers have been better third options than starters. He's going to need some time to develop as a receiver, but when he does could be a nice third option.

ATL Forecast: Murphy is not going to add a lot to the Falcons lineup. He adds some size and speed, but doesn't have great upside to be an upgrade over Jenkins on the outside. Just not a reliable option. Could be a nice fourth receiver, particularly if he takes to special teams. But that's really about it. With his speed and burst, he might be worth developing as a kickoff returner.

Value: Murphy is a solid mid-round pick. Could be worth a late third, but probably better off drafting in the fourth.
