My latest mock that can now be found at the Huddle Report for subscribers has us taking Matt Roth at #27. Here's how I figured the D-linemen will go in the draft. I don't think it's a guarantee we will take a DE at that pick, but considering how relatively strong a DE class this is + McKay's draft record, indicates it's a strong possibility.
9. Redskins - Erasmus James 11. Cowboys - David Pollack 16. Saints - Shaun Cody 17. Bengals - Antajj Hawthorne 21. Jaguars - Dan Cody 24. Packers - Marcus Spears 25. Broncos - Travis Johnson 27. Falcons - Matt Roth 28. Chargers - Shawne Merriman
This is what I think you are going to see in the coming months:
James, Dan Cody, Johnson, Roth, and Merriman will see their stocks rise.
Pollack, Hawthorne, and Spears will see their stocks fall.
And it will most likely be totally due to workouts. I suspect those guys I listed first will have good/great workouts, while the others will not. But from what I've seen from these guys, I think they all will be solid NFL players. I don't think any are really NFL ready from the get-go, except maybe Pollack, but all can grow into decent players at the very least in a few years.
Can't wait until the Senior Bowl, which will be my only chance to really watch a lot of these players.
