NFL Draft Scout has Carter listed as the 12th best center prospect now. Other sites have him falling out the Top 10. This is interesting because only a few months ago, most experts had Carter as the #1 or #2 cetner in the nation.
But it would seem his lack of size is hurting him, and he doesn't seem like a dominant player in many eyes.
If Carter truly has slipped this much, then I would suspect him to be an undrafted player. The average # of centers taken in recent drafts have been 7 or 8 guys. If Carter is no longer to be viewed that high, it's doubtful he will be even drafted.
This likely bodes well for the Falcons. Some have thought of Carter as being a good fit here in Atlanta, and it would mean that the Falcons could wait until Round 7 to take Carter, probably without any worry of him being taken before hand. It would seem that he needs a good Combine workout and a good pro day performance to begin to rise back up boards.
