this really has nothing to do with the falcons but ill throw it out there..

Its funny to see a white boy running the 40 *almost* the same time as Vine Young, Reggie Bush, Michael Huff, DeAngelo Williams, etc. I know 40 times have really nothing to do with how you play on the field but its cool to see this...And they say white dudes can't run haha...thats awesome...

I always thought it was white boys can't jump. I mean what about Tim Dwight?

But I did find this interesting, about certain individuals vertical leaps:

1. A.J. Hawk, LB - 40 inches
2. Tim McGarigle, LB - 38
3. Dave Thomas, TE - 37.5
4. Reed Doughty, S - 37
5. Todd Watkins, WR - 37
6. Mike Kudla, DE/LB - 37
7. Richie Ross, WR - 37
8. Scott Ware, S - 37

Meaning all these guys should be able to dunk a basketball. What is the world coming to?!

What was Lawson's official vertical? I remember the picture of him getting above the backboard from a standing jump.

Lawson had a 39.5 inch vertical at the Combines, he did not jump at his pro day.

FYI, the players with the highest verticals at the Combine were:

Vernon Davis and DE Mark Anderson with 42 inches. Only 20 players jumped higher than Hawk at the Combines. Mario Williams jumped 40.5 inches. So at least we know if football doesn't work out for him, he could get some looks as an NBA power forward.
