Question about college football

Postby Pudge » Tue Aug 17, 2010 2:21 pm

Why do the coaches always have a state trooper with them when they are coming in and out of the locker room at half time and the end of the game?

I mean are they really worried about the coach being assaulted?

I guess it makes sense on road games, and I'm sure Ron Zook needs it at home games. But I was recently watching a replay of a UGA home game, and Mark Richt had one. I know he may not universally loved in Athens, but I really doubt a Bulldog fan would do anything to him coming in/out of tunnel.

Well it has evolved into more of a tradition than anything else. But don't underestimate the crazy SEC fans. They can do stupid things when they lose.
