LaRod Stephens-Howling
5-7/180 Pittsburgh
4.48 Senior

Pros: Runs hard for his size and not afraid to run inside. Keeps his feet moving after contact. Has decent burst, speed, and quickness and shows some shiftiness in the open field. Has good hands and a better blocker than his size would merit. Has experience working as a kickoff returner.

Cons: Lacks size and won't run through any tackles. Not explosive out of his cuts, and really not a home run threat. On special teams, not a significant factor.

Overview: He has the same build as Warrick Dunn and plays a similar style, but more akin to the guy that was past his prime in his 30s, than the young guy that was a home run threat. Was a starter at Pitt his first two seasons there, but was moved to the bench as a third down back once LeSean McCoy arrived in 2007. Returned a kickoff for a TD as a freshman.

NFL Forecast: If he can impact on special teams, he stands a chance in the NFL. Probably not going to do that as a returner, but perhaps in coverage. If he does that, he has a chance. He's a hard worker that plays tougher than you would think for a player his size. But in the long run, his lack of size will hurt him as a runner. Instead, he'll have to purely be a receiver at the next level. That's a role he can fit well. Has an outside chance as a third down back in the NFL, but more than likely, he'll probably have to go north to Canada or someplace in order to extend his playing career.

ATL Forecast: He'll remind people of Dunn, but not really in a good way. Not really a threat to stick in Atlanta since he doesn't do anything better than either Norwood or Brown.

Value: Not worth drafting, but some team should bring him to camp in case he surprises.
