PROS: Has a nice first step and has a good motor to make plays in pursuit. Uses his hands to help him get around the edge and can get leverage vs. the run. Does a decent job shedding blocks. Is comfortable moving in space.
CONS: Doesn't have the edge quickness to turn the corner. Can get engulfed by double teams and bigger blockers. His bull rush is inneffecitve because of his lack of ideal size.
OVERVIEW: Jorgensen plays end in BYU's 3-4 scheme, but is miscast in that scheme. He's a tweener and could play either end or linebacker.
NFL FORECAST: He doesn't get many opportunities as a stand-up linebacker, so he's fairly raw there. He has flashed potential to play there but he'd be a project. Instead, the best way to capitalize on his ability is probably to bulk him up and make him a full-time end. He doesn't have great size or frame there, but with an additonal 10-15 pounds he coudl make a solid rotation end. He won't ever be a top pass rusher, but can be a solid two-way player that can contribute in a 4-3 team's rotation. He has good potential to play the run. I think he can make hte transition to linebacker, but I think his length to impact would be significantly longer. As an end, he could be contributing significant minutes by his second season. As a linebacker, he wouldn't be able to emerge off special teams coverage units until three or more years down the line.
ATL FORECAST: Jorgensen could contribute to the Falcons rotation. He's an undersized end that has a similar frame as Chauncey Davis, and I think with a year's development would be a similar player to Davis. Both have high motors and despite not having great size, can make plays vs. the run. While he needs a year's development to put on more muscle, it's hard to imagine Jorgensen not sticking with the Falcons. It's unlikely he'd ever be a starter here, but a few years down the road could be a nice third end much like Davis is.
VALUE: For a 4-3 team looking for him to join their rotation, Jorgensen is a solid fifth round pick. For a team looking to convert him to linebacker, then they are better off waiting until the seventh round.
