Texas Senior

PROS: Shows some pop off the snap and able to get position as a run blocker. Has good mobility and does a nice job getting downfield on the second level and cutting linebackers. Shows a decent hand punch and initiates contact in pas protection. Works well in the shotgun. Shows toughness and mean streak.
CONS: Lacks size and can be overmatched in pass protection. Too easily pushed back and struggles against size. Is too much of a waist bender. Doesn't get a lot of push as a run blocker. Needs to improve his hand placement there, especially when he's blocking on the move. Tends to block high. Will miss some assignments as a cut blocker.
OVERVIEW: Hall has some ability, particularly with his ability to block on the second level. But he really struggled in some games, particularly the National Championship game where he was dominated by Terrence Cody a few times in the middle, and couldn't even block Rolando McClain when he blitzed. Started past two seasons at center, although missed some time due to sprained knee as a junior. Previous season started 12 games but at all 5 positions. Most time came at left guard (5 starts) and right tackle (4 starts), but also got time at center (2) and left tackle (1).
NFL FORECAST: Hall could stick as a reserve on a team that likes its center or guard to get downfield and take out linebackers. He's got potential as a cut blocker, and a zone-blocking scheme that likes to do that (like that of Alex Gibbs) will probably be his best chance of sticking at the next level. But he's undersized and probably needs to fill out his frame a lot more. His past experience playing multiple positions adds some more value. But unless he puts on another 10-15 pounds of muscle, I don't think he'll be able to hold up at those other spots, especially guard. Basically, he's godo enough to make an NFL roster, but has limited potential to make an impact long-term.
ATL FORECAST: Hall could compete for time in Atlanta, but I'm not sure he's a better option at center than guys like Blake Schlueter or Rob Bruggeman, and thus his best chance of making the roster will be competing as a reserve guard. But again, he'll need to bulk up, so he'll likely have to spend a year on the practice squad, something I'm not sure he's good enough today to do. And even if he did, I don't see the great upside that means he'll be able to win a roster spot in 2011 or 2012.
VALUE: Hall is worth a look in camp, but a team will be mistaken if they use a pick on him.
