Pros: Has impressive size, strength, arm length and athleticism. He has good mobility for a man of his size, and shows the ability to use his long arms to lock onto defenders in pass protection or in the run game. Has foot speed and doesn’t look out of position at offensive tackle. Doesn’t do a bad job of mirroring defenders when in pass protection. Shows the ability to get to the second level with his athleticism.

Cons: Needs some technique work. Flashes a very effective punch, but has to use it more effectively and more consistently, and must improve his hand placement. Will open his hips a bit early at times and that makes him more susceptible to the inside move. Doesn’t project well to LT in the NFL in my opinion, but projects better at RT or OG. He will overextend and lean/bend at the waist in pass protection versus better pass rushers and that leads to him being off balance, which makes him easier to shed. Will struggle to find a defender to block at times when going to the second level.

Overall: Ducasse has potential to be a long-term quality starter at OG or RT because of his size and athletic ability, but he needs technique work. He bends at the waist instead of at the knees, overextends and will lose his balance in pass protection. He won’t make an immediate impact for this reason, but getting time to develop and get coached up is for the best for Ducasse. He needs time to get polished and he will probably get it unless he is drafted too high. His ceiling is a quality starter at OG or RT and his floor is an OG who never really polishes his fundamentals and ends up being a career back-up.

Projection: 2nd round: He could go early in the 2nd round or he could go later in the 2nd round, he is tough to project. If there is a run on OT’s there is even a chance he could sneak into the late 1st round.

1-poor, 2-weak, 3-above average, 4-very good, 5-elite
