A Dunn question

Postby RdHdBirdFan » Mon Nov 21, 2005 1:39 pm

I had to watch yesterday's game from a very poor vantage point in a sports bar (the casino "sport zone" I have watched the games in the past was blown away by Katrina) and saw something totally out of character for Dunn. After one play he carried the ball was over, he was kicking a TB player in the head.

Anyone know exactly what the deal was on that? I don't recall a penalty being called on that play and God knows, the refs were calling them yesterday!

There was no penality on the play (there was a ref at the bottom of a pile). Dunn was trying to get up from being in the pile and I think the player that was holding on to him wasn't letting him get up so he kicked him.

It is also entirely possible someone was trying to bite him, yank his foot as to injure him, or scratching him. I wouldn't put anything past Tampa. It is also possible that Dunn was just retaliating against a Tampa player for poking Rossum in the eye.

Most likely, White was trying to twist his ankle while in the pile. I saw Thomas Davis do that to a Georgia Southern RB last year or the year before & the back had to come out of the game. Dunn was just defending himself & it is disgusting that the refs & the NFL would allow this kind of play to still go on. If you can't do anything about what goes on in the pile, don't flag someone for going after a guy after they get up. And especially don't penalize our guy for just laying on top of their guy for longer than their guy would have liked him to. That may have been the single most ridiculous call I have ever seen.

That's what I saw too...
