I won't bother going into any prognostication on the Falcons beyond the first round because a.) it's crazy, b.) I don't follow this crap as closely anymore.

I don't think the Falcons keep their 30th overall pick. They have an extra 4th rounder which lends me to believe that they will trade up in the draft somewhere into the 20's to get someone like Desmond Trufant, Tyler Eifert, or one of many DE's the Falcons have been tied to. I don't like the idea of selling the farm to move up for someone like Rhodes with us being so far down in the draft.

If the Falcons don't move up I think they move down and add choices in middle of this draft or next years draft. The general consensus seems to be that this years draft is a dud. Even with that logic every draft turns out some studs and the dumpier drafts seems to have good draft classes in the middle rounds. Atlanta has enough holes that trading down makes sense.

My preferred pick for Atlanta would be Desmond Trufant and ideally picking him up somewhere around 25-30 overall.

One a side note I read about the idea of Marcus Lattimore falling into the 3rd or 4th round and the Falcons potentially picking him up. If Lattimore is around in the 4th then I would love to see Atlanta pick him up (thought I doubt he is there). I might even been willing to spend a 3rd round pick on someone like Lattimore. With Quizz & Jackson the Falcons would have no immediate need to run Lattimore out there day one. They can let him ease into the pro game.

There's my thoughts and opinions.

I honestly would be surprised if the Falcons took a flyer on Lattimore. I think someone will. But I think the issue with Lattimore is that if the Falcons are going to add a 5th tailback to the roster, he's going to probably have to have immediate value on special teams, such as being able to return kicks.
