I'm surprised Yates made the roster

Seriously, why did we even bring in Matthews, sign him to a 3 year deal, pay him 420K just to cut him in order to keep TJ Yates, who has looked less the stellar in preseason?

Maybe we can trade TJ to the Rams for ...something?

Final cuts haven't been made yet fun gus, so Yates hasn't made anything...yet.

And all undrafted rookies get 3 year deals, but typically only get signing bonuses between $1,000 and $20,000, thus cutting them is no sweat on the cap, since the dead money is at most 0.005% of the salary cap. You can cut every undrafted rookie you sign and it will cost you the equivalent of less than a penny.
