a second and a sixth for Roddy?

Postby fun gus » Tue Apr 01, 2014 1:42 pm

According to Patriots beat writer Tom Curran of CSNE.com, New England was interested in acquiring veteran receiver Roddy White from the Atlanta Falcons...Word on the street is the Pat's are offering a 2nd round pick as well as a sixth round pick this year and a 7th round pick in 2015..The Falcons front office is in the process of considering the proposal.,more to come

I make it in a heartbeat. Roddy's going to be 33 this season. If the Pat's wanna give up a 2nd rounder, you gotta take it. And just for the record, I don't believe this to be true.

It's beyond silly. His contract expires at the end of this year, so it'd be a 2nd for one year of a 33 year-old receiver. There's no way. That said, yeah, I'd do it. I really like Roddy, but he's 33 and there's no room to draft his replacement this year.

In a heartbeat. If such a move were made, I would absolutely look at trading back and then trading up, in an attempt to get 3 picks in the top 40. I would use the picks on OT, DE/OLB, and WR or TE. That would be an amazing draft.

WSB TV reported that Bo Jackson was joining the Braves as an outfielder coach, and the Falcons as a RB coach. Gotta love the 1st of April.

Knew it was April Fools when I read your initial post fun gus. Then when the link didn't work, confirmed it.

Nice job of playing on the roster depletion/aging core angle; I was fooled.
