DeCoud was up there, but I’m going to go with Baker. Left tackle is a much more valuable position than safety. Baker has to step up next year and live up to that contract.

For the year? I think the team got the least WAR/$ for Assante, but only really because he cost more. A lot of the guys on this list, but Asante was pointless and could easily have replaced with a younger, cheaper guy.

The true tragedy, of course, is Baker, and he'll very likely be my choice for this award when his contract balloons next year. Terrible deal. Terrible.

The myth that Asante is done has already begun.

I did not realize Assante made so much but I think you have to go w Baker just because he played so little. I don't think Assante is done but I think he is probably done here. DeCoud probably had the worst year of all these guys in terms of conspicuous bad plays but he was on the field a lot more than, say, Jerry. I wanted to say Jackson because I hated the signing so much but it would be inaccurate though he was pretty mediocre.

The only reason you vote Asante is because at this point of his career he is overpaid. Dude is still a good DB and would be be a fine option next year opposite Trufant or in the nickel.

If Atlanta can work his deal to dramatically reduce his cap hit I'd keep him.

Wow, I cannot believe this travesty that Asante is getting this many votes.

He's 2nd only to Ryan as the best player on this list. Unlike everyone else on this list besides Ryan, Asante is actually good.

There may be 14 teams where Asante could go to tomorrow and not be the No. 1 corner, and with possible exception of the Titans, none of them have a No. 2 that is better than Asante. He is a Top 15, at worst a Top 20 corner. Is making less than $6 million overpayment for that?

The Baker contract is unbelievable!! I can't remember him showing any signs of his being strong in any area....... We were always saying he might be getting better?

Asante's very average at this point in his career. He's worth 2, maybe a stretch of 3 million a year at this point. Thus he's overpaid by a number of millions per year. We cut him he will sign for 2 years $5 million max, and probably less.
