I don't follow the college players as close as many do here, but from what I'm seeing it's said to be a deep draft this year. With the amount of holes we need filled, what is the chances the Falcons pull another play out of the Patriots handbook and trade back down in the draft to acquire more picks? Good move, bad move or no chance?

Well, I very much doubt Clowney and Jake Mathews will be there at 6, so trading down seems to be an option at this point because although we sucked at 4-12, we evidently didn't suck as badly as three other 4-12 teams

I wouldn't mind as we have many wholes, but it's not in TD's nature. I wish we drafted like the Patriots, by consistently moving down, they always have allot of high pics, giving their team the great depth that out team lacks.

It's still too early in the process to say one or the other.

It'll depend on the strength of the class at key positions, notably along the lines (as It's fairly safe to say that the Falcons top pick will be either an offensive or defensive lineman), as well as quarterback.

Jake Matthews is right now the only consensus Top 10 offensive linemen, but by the time May rolls around, there could be several more on that list. Greg Robinson (Auburn), Cyrus Kouandijo (Alabama), Cameron Irving (FSU), Cedric Ogbuehi (Texas A&M), and Antonio Richardson (Tennessee) are all underclassman that have a lot of buzz surrounding them. A strong combine for any one of them (see Lane Johnson) and they could easily climb the boards from mid/late 1st/early 2nd to Top 10.

What will also factor in is how deep this class. The number of potential juniors could push some seniors down. And remember the Falcons are coaching the Senior Bowl, and will get a first hand look at some of them. They may discover that they really like one of these seniors that has 1st round ability but due to the depth of the class will fall to the top portion of Round 2 (just like Sam Baker in 2008).

As for defensive lineman (and I'm including 3-4 outside linebackers among them), we'll see. Clowney's stock is still up in the air. He's still very likely going to be a Top 10 pick, but he could go anywhere between pick #1 and #8. We don't really know how high Barr and Mack will be considered. Probably Top 10, but it wouldn't be a shock if they fell into the 15-25 range.

WHo knows at this the point?
