Lewis ready to pay; Brooks won't accept 2hr Ray Lewis is a man of his word
By BRENT SOBLESKI

The Saints’ 23-20 victory over the 49ers Sunday has been overshadowed by a controversial roughing the passer penalty on Drew Brew from Ahmad Brooks.

The post-game discussion was lively and none were as adamant in their disdain for the call than future Hall of Fame linebacker and current ESPN analyst Ray Lewis.

Lewis went beyond simply lambasting the call in front of a national audience. He put his money where his mouth was.

Lewis will indeed live up to his word.

Brooks was fined $15,750 for the hit. Lewis will owe $7,875.

Lewis’ potential participation in league action raises another interesting question.

Brooks is appreciative of Lewis’ stance, but he apparently won’t accept the money.

Is this a thing? Or just a misspelling?
