Falcons Starting To See Why No One Believed In Them

Postby fun gus » Mon Apr 01, 2013 8:47 am

ATLANTA—Following their disappointing 28-24 defeat to the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, members of the Atlanta Falcons confirmed Tuesday that the team is beginning to understand why nobody in the country believed in them this season.

“At first I thought everyone was just bitter about our number one seed, but after blowing a 17-point lead at home to lose the game, now I see why people never stopped doubting us,” said Falcons wide receiver Roddy White, adding that with a 1-4 record in the playoffs since 2008, “it totally makes sense” not to take the team seriously as a postseason threat.

“I guess when you think about it, we’re basically just an above-average team that always falls apart during the playoffs, so it’s no wonder everyone kept saying we wouldn’t even reach the Super Bowl, let alone win it. And they were right.” White also confirmed that after a second-half interception and a costly fumbled snap, the entire Falcons organization now realizes why the entire country has always insisted that Matt Ryan is not an elite quarterback.

Matt Ryan is an elite QB. Matt Ryan was the only reason that we had the half time lead. Perhaps if Roddy hadn't fallen down while running his route, there wouldn't have been an interception. It never ceases to amaze me, the crap that comes out of Roddy's mouth.

Gotta admit, I had completely forgotten about April fool's. I don't participate in it. I view lying as the highest sin, and I do my damnedest to be as honest with everyone as possible. Without trust, relationships are meaningless.

So, up your butts with your stupid celebration of deception.

This is about as awkward as hearing stories how Bobby Petrino wouldn't let his players talk during weekly team dinners.

Its true Matt Ryan is not elite!! However he is good enough to win a Super Bowl with an offense like he has now; and a much improved defense.

Roddy White said
“I guess when you think about it, we’re basically just an above-average team that always falls apart during the playoffs, so it’s no wonder everyone kept saying we wouldn’t even reach the Super Bowl, let alone win it. And they were right.”

After this past year he has earned the right to say that!! I don't know how much above average we are; Our Offense is good and our defense is average at best.......This is just the truth.

The value of Coach Mike Smith has never been realized on this board, but he keeps his teams together without long losing streaks. Yes I think making the playoffs is good stuff, but you can't win Super Bowls with stupid turnovers. Last year was probably our best chance in a while; since the ball coulda gone our way against Frisco.

Those thinking Super Bowl or bust will stay busted for a long while. As much as I like
Thomas D. I think Coach Smith wins with less talent.

They've had 5 years and they'll need at least another 5, to win it all.

This is the most rational thing Roddy has ever said even though he should not have said it!! I wonder if others were saying this or its just Roddy. I doubt Roddy could make this much since on his own.

I still think Ryan was the best Qb in his draft, and is the best Qb the Falcons ever had. He's consistent; while when we went to the Super Bowl; Chandler was really hot most of the season.
