Good Friday morning,
It came as no surprise that Ahmad Bradshaw left the Steelers without a contract Thursday. No one I talked to yesterday believed any contract was imminent.
Bradshaw had surgery on his right foot late in January and it was estimated that it would take 10 weeks to heal. He had the walking boot removed only last week.
Thursday, was more a get-to-know-you session, plus a physical. Mike Tomlin no doubt told Bradshaw what plans they would have for him if they could come together on a contract ultimately. But he will have to prove his foot is healthy before the cap-strapped Steelers can commit to him. The Steelers do not need running backs with injuries, not matter their resume. However, they can add a veteran now and one in the draft, as long as one or the other has the potential to be their top dog.
