Babs Stepping Up

Postby Pudge » Mon Nov 05, 2012 12:48 am

Babs tied for the team lead tonight with 7 tackles. He's put together several good games now over the past 4 or 5 weeks.

He's not the 2009 version of Babs, but he's certainly shown improvement from last year, when I was afraid he might be done. He's really stepped up this year given the lack of consistency with other players inside.

Just like you Pudge, I've always been a huge Babs fan. Even when he's not making a huge impact, you know he's working his tail off. It seems like ever since that Washington game, he's been flying to the ball. With Peters still adjusting to coming back from a long injury, his play has been huge and has shown that he can still go.

I'm not sure why he's not the 09 Babs? He looks fantastic against both the run and the pass, he hustling making tackles down field, and knocking down passes when he does get blocked. He's having a pro bowl year in 2012.

I don't think he's as disruptive as he was in '09 nor is he as effective as a pass rusher with pressuring the QB as he was then. I think in '09 he was dominant. This year, I think he's just good.

Jerry when out during the game. Has anyone heard what is up with that other than it was a knee? Good thing we got Peters back, and it seems to have helped Babs.

Jerry should practice Thursday or Friday according to Smith.
